My acrylic work, particularly in the Folk series, delves into the richness of the Black American experience. Using bold, expressive strokes and vivid colors, I explore themes of identity, culture, and resistance. The work blends a sense of pride with playful exaggeration, celebrating the beauty and complexity of Black life, while pushing back against societal expectations. Through dynamic compositions and layered symbolism, I seek to honor the fullness of our stories—both the joy and the struggle—without apology.
